RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Staff recommends approval of the ordinance amendment to reflect the budget approved fee change in Appendix A - Schedule of Fees.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The annual multi-family residential and hotel/motel inspection program was established in February of 2002, under Chapter 122 of the Code of Ordinances, to ensure that these types of occupancies were inspected for minimum life-safety provisions.
• The proposed annual registration fee and reduced re-inspection fee was established by Ordinance 2016-09-074 on September 20, 2016 as part of the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Budget.
• In order to reflect the fees listed in Appendix A, an amendment needs to be considered as shown in the proposed ordinance that amends Chapter 122, Section 103.5 fees.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The estimated cost to the City for conducting the annual inspections is $17,370.00 per fiscal year. The approved fees will offset this cost.
