RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* Replacement of existing "End of Life (EOL)" and/or non-functional surveillance cameras installed in or around city owned or leased property.
* Replacement of existing "End of Life (EOL)" and/or non-functional surveillance video recording devices.
* Hardware and Installation services are available for purchase form Securadyne Systems of Carrollton, Texas through the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), Contract No. DIR-SDD-2210 and DIR-SDD-2232.
* Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, Interlocal Cooperation Contracts, authorizes cities to make purchases utilizing cooperative contracts such as the ones available through the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR)


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* For the past 3 years, Information Technology has been trying to refresh aging and non-operational video surveillance cameras in and around City of McKinney buildings. Our current video surveillance solution is over 8 years old and it is critical to replace the systems this year. Currently, many of our surveillance cameras are not functional or have limited functionality due to sun damage and/or old age. In many cases we are unable to record and/or retrieve video because the legacy recording server is end of life, the hardware has failed or is failing and cannot be replaced. These camera systems are designed to help protect City assets and infrastructure and aid in criminal investigation of theft and fraud.
