RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Local Project Advance Funding Agreement (LPAFA) with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the construction of a hike and bike trail under US 75 at Comegy’s Creek, for an amount not to exceed $300,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Hike and Bike Trails Master Plan shows a hike and bike trail crossing under US 75 at Comegy’s Creek.
• The construction of this trail involves drilling piers to support the trail along the edge of the creek.
• It will be easier to drill the piers during the period when the bridge is removed during the construction of US 75; therefore, the contractor for the US 75 project has the best opportunity to construct the trail.
• This LPAFA is a commitment of the City of McKinney to pay TxDOT for the additional trail construction work.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes LPAFA for an amount not to exceed $300,000.
• Funds for this LPAFA are available in the Capital Improvement Program (PK2257) funded by Parkland Dedication funds.
