RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of Ordinance.
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      This Ordinance authorizes the addition of $300,000 from the Unallocated Fund Balance (WA0000) to the 2013-2017 Capital Improvements Program for the Aerial Wastewater Crossing Replacement Project (WW3255).
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      During a recent inspection of the sanitary sewer system near West Park Drive and Jeans Creek, an aerial crossing was determined to need repair/replacement.  The condition requires the replacement to be completed as soon as possible.  
·      The transferred funds will allow the new Aerial Wastewater Crossing Replacement CIP project WW3255 to move forward with the design, bid and construction of the repair/replacement of the aerial wastewater crossing over Jeans Creek in Fiscal Year 2012-2013.
·      Consultant selection will be obtained from the approved qualified consultant firm list for minor utility projects to provide design, bid and construction administration services.
·      A fee proposal will then be negotiated with the most qualified firm in accordance with the professional services procedures provided by the approved City of McKinney Purchasing Policy.  
·      Upon completion of the design and receipt of bids for the construction, a resolution will be submitted to Council for their consideration of the award of the construction contract.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      The attached financial summary details the funding changes to the Unallocated Fund Balance WA0000 and the Aerial Wastewater Crossing Replacement Project WW3255.
