RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
·      Approval of the Ordinance.

ITEM SUMMARY:
·      This Ordinance will rescind the Ordinance (No. 94-08-23) which restricted U-Turn movements at two locations on Virginia Parkway.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
·      In 1994, the U-turn movements were restricted by Ordinance in the eastbound direction of Virginia Parkway at Wilson Creek Boulevard and in the westbound direction of Virginia Parkway approximately 580 feet east of Carlisle Street.
·      At the time, there was not a separate left turn lane for these locations.
 ·      Wilson Creek Boulevard had not been constructed yet north of Virginia Parkway to Hunt Street and the development at 2517 Virginia Parkway located at the median opening east of Carlisle Street had not been constructed either.
·      Without a separate left turn lane at these locations, the U-Turn movements were restricted to maintain traffic flow on Virginia Parkway.
·      With the construction of the development at 2517 Virginia Parkway, and the construction of Wilson Creek Boulevard to Hunt Street, the left turn lanes at the above locations were constructed making this Ordinance unnecessary.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
·      Funds for the removal of the signs are available in the operating budget of the Public Works Department.
