RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance will establish the reduced speed school zones for Emerson High School.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Frisco Independent School District has constructed a new high school in McKinney at the intersection of Collin McKinney Parkway and Stacy Road. The name of the new school is Emerson High School.
• The locations of the proposed reduced speed school zones along Collin McKinney Parkway and Stacy Road for Emerson High School are shown on the attached exhibit.
• The school zone time periods will be consistent with the Frisco ISD school schedule.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds to install two of the school zone flashing beacons are available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department. It is noted that FISD paid for the procurement and installation of the other two school zone flashing beacons and all other school related signage as part of the construction of the school.
