RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
· Approval of the following non-budgeted item utilizing a cooperative contract;
o Purchase of one John Deere 997 Zero-Turn Mower replacing unit # 25405 for Airport Department for $14,702.65.
· Zero-Turn Mower available for purchase from Ag-Power, Inc. of McKinney, through Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Contract No. GR01-12.
· Unit # 25405 broke down suddenly in November of 2012 which is why it was not originally added to capital replacement in FY13.
· The existing zero-turn mower is not economically repairable.
· Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, Interlocal Cooperation Contracts, authorizes cities to make purchases utilizing cooperative contracts such as the ones available through HGAC.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· The above item was not budgeted for capital replacement in FY13, however funding will be made available thru budget transferring.
