RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution to apply for, accept and implement the grant award to fund the upgrade of the City of McKinney Emergency Operations Center to a digital platform.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The UASI program focus is to support state and local efforts to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events and to prepare the nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to our security.
* The upgrade of the McKinney EOC from an analog structure to an expandable digital technology, will resolve current visual display issues and will allow for increased information sharing among digital devices.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Equipment brought into the EOC such as laptops, tablets, and other "smart" devices are not fully compatible with the current analog platform which causes issues when trying to interface.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The amount of the grant is approximately $145,737 and there is no match required for this grant.
* FY17 Appropriations for this grant award will be budgeted in Grant Fund (Fund 033).
* Ongoing maintenance and operation costs to be absorbed through existing Fire Department Operating Budget.
