RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes a contract with North Collin Water Supply Corporation (NCWSC) to relocate their existing waterline along FM 543 as necessary for the construction of the FM 543 Realignment project, for an amount not to exceed $95,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· TxDOT is reconstructing US 75 between Bloomdale Road and Telephone Road, including the interchange at FM 543.
· The new interchange at FM 543 is being realigned to conform with the alignment of FM 543 as shown on the City’s Master Thoroughfare Plan.
· The City of McKinney Capital Improvements Program includes a project called FM 543 Realignment which involves the realignment of a section of FM 543 north of US 75 to align with the proposed TxDOT interchange.
· The FM 543 construction will provide approximately 3800 feet of arterial roadway as shown on the location map.
· An existing NCWSC waterline is in conflict with the proposed roadway and must be relocated prior to completion of the roadway improvements.
· The NCWSC water main is located within a private utility easement; therefore, the cost to relocate this waterline is the responsibility of the City and will be paid to NCWSC as a reimbursement.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· NCWSC has submitted a proposal for relocation costs in the amount of $86,583.
· This Resolution authorizes a contract with NCWSC for an amount not to exceed $95,000.
· Funding for this utility relocation contract is available in the Capital Improvement Program in ST6091.
