RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution amends expenditures in the 2018 - 2022 Capital Improvements Program by creating the following new Capital Improvement Program project:
o Virginia Elevated Storage Tank Maintenance Project, WA1805 located near the intersection of Custer Road and Virginia Parkway.
• The project will be funded with previously programmed funds from the Water Storage Tank Maintenance - Umbrella Project (WA1629) in the amount of $1,000,000 for inspection, design, and construction.
• An accompanying Resolution to enter into a consulting engineering services contract is also on this agenda for Council’s consideration.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Funding has been allocated for FY2017-2018 for ongoing maintenance requirements of water storage tanks (WA1629).
• The existing 1.5 Million Gallons (MG) Virginia Elevated Storage Tank serves the 920 pressure plane of the City’s water distribution system.
• The existing water storage tank has been identified for paint inspection and repainting based on field observations by a third party contractor working for the Public Works Department.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• With approval of this item, $1,000,000 will remain in WA1805.
• With approval of this item, $0 will remain in WA1629.
