ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Project Graduation is requesting $11,900 for advertising, marketing and promoting the 2018 McKinney’s Project Graduation Event.

                     The event will be held on June 8, 2018 at Myers Park Event Center from 10:30 pm until 5:30 am.

                     Project graduation is a “lock-in” style event and will feature entertainment, music, games, bingo, food and drinks.

                     The event does not receive any funding through MISD.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission of McKinney’s Project Graduation is to provide a safe, alcohol and drug free, all night, event for all MISD seniors (McKinney Boyd, McKinney North, McKinney High) on graduation night.

                     Project Graduation is a 501(c)(3) organization managed 100% by volunteers.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 18 is $150,000, $75,000 for Cycle I applicants, and $75,000 for Cycle II applicants.

                     Project Graduation has been supported through MCDC sponsorship/ advertising dollars but has not applied for a promotional event grant during the past 6+years.
