RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with KIP Realty, LLC to provide appraisal services for approximately 25 separately owned properties located along US 75 from SH 121 to White Avenue as necessary for the acquisition of easements for the relocation of water and sewer mains that will be in conflict with TxDOT’s proposed US 75 reconstruction project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Capital Improvements Program includes funds needed for the relocation of water and sewer facilities along US 75 affected by the TxDOT US 75/US 380 Interchange Improvement Project.
• Easements must be acquired prior to relocating the water and sewer lines.
• Since State funds are involved in the project, the City must follow TxDOT guidelines in the acquisition of easements. TxDOT requires the appraisals to be performed by a TxDOT approved appraiser. KIP Realty, LLC is a TxDOT approved appraisal firm.
• KIP Realty has submitted a proposal in the amount of $125,000 for this work.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: None.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The resolution authorizes a contract with KIP Realty for an amount not to exceed $140,000.
• Funds for the project are available in WA9118 ($50,000) for the US 75 Water Main Relocation - South Section and WW9119 ($90,000) for the US 75 Sewer Main Relocation - South Section.
