RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the attached Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Wilson Creek Hike and Bike trail project extends the trail from the Wilson Creek Softball Complex to Eldorado Parkway which will eventually lead to the Heard Museum.
* City staff worked with David C. Baldwin, Inc., a landscape architecture firm, preparing the construction plans and specifications as needed for project bidding.
* The project was bid in a manner that fulfills our legal obligations.
* A total of six (6) bids were submitted and accepted.
* North Rock Construction submitted the lowest bid for the construction of the project for an amount of $676,692.15.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* David C. Baldwin, Inc. along with Staff support, recommends awarding the bid to North Rock Construction for the construction of the Wilson Creek Hike and Bike Trail project.
* If approved, the contract allows for construction to begin in March 2017 with a July 2017 deadline for completion.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The Wilson Creek Hike and Bike Trail project (PK8062) is a FY16-17 Capital Improvements Project.
* Preliminary estimated project design and development costs were budgeted at $886,700.
* In a concurrent CIP Amendment, staff is requesting additional construction funds ($100,000) as needed to pay the full project costs.
* Below is a summary of the costs associated with the project including the additional funds of $100,000.
