ITEM SUMMARY:
·      With the passage of the Public Art Program, the McKinney Arts Commission's scope of work has expanded to include oversight of the public art process.
·      With the passage of the Public Art Master Plan, the McKinney Arts Commission is now responsible for fundraising toward the procurement and maintenance of public art.
·      Staff recommends removing the requirement that the McKinney Community Development Corporation appoint a non-voting liaison to the Commission. The MCDC has never fulfilled this requirement, nor does either entity see the value in doing so.
·      The current Ordinance  states, "No Commissioner of the Arts Commission shall serve more than three consecutive two-year terms," which is in conflict with Council's policy that Board and Commission appointees not serve more than two consecutive two year terms. As a result, the language has been modified.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
·      The McKinney Arts Commission voted to recommend the changes to the Ordinance so that it can accurately reflect the duties of Commission.
