RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $374,966 as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the Intersection Capacity Improvements at US Highway 380 and Community Avenue Project (ST2011), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $430,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

* The City of McKinney Engineering Department has identified a need for intersection capacity improvements at US 380 and Community Avenue including the addition of additional turn lanes and traffic flow improvements.
* These intersection capacity improvements have been included in the FY22 Capital Improvement Plan budget for CIP Project ST2011 including:
o $800,000 in collected roadway impact fees eligible for use in improving intersection capacity.
o $1,200,000 in grant funding approved under the NCTCOG Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ).
* The scope of improvements under this project include:
o Conversion of a single westbound left-turn lane on US 380 to dual left-turn lanes.
o Conversion of a single eastbound left-turn lane on US 380 to dual left-turn lanes.
