RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a change order with Wilson Contractor Services, LLC for additional services for a revised contract amount not to exceed $815,000 for the construction of the Airport Sanitary Sewer - Phase II Project.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· TRC Solutions, Inc. designed the Airport Sanitary Sewer - Phase II Project.
· This project eliminates the need for an old lift station located at the Collin County Regional Airport and will provide sewer service for future airport facilities.
· The alignment of the proposed sanitary sewer line crosses the existing runway and the proposed replacement runway. A portion of the project involves relocation of the sanitary sewer adjacent to Fire Station No. 4 to allow for future expansion of the hangars for the airport.
· An increase in the contact amount is needed to address the following issues:
o The construction documents and available record drawings did not indicate the correct depth and alignment of an existing 12-inch water line near Fire Station No. 4. The proposed sewer was therefore in conflict with the existing water line requiring the water line location to be adjusted.
o The connection of the proposed sewer line at the existing North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) sewer main needed to be revised based on the requirements provided by the NTMWD.
o An unanticipated layer of rock was encountered while boring under the existing runway.
· These changes result in a cost increase in the amount of $63,997.59.
