ITEM SUMMARY:

The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting a reallocation of $200,000    from PK1829 New Senior Center to PK4325 Parks Accessibility.

This reallocation will fund various ADA work across the City which includes recommendations from the accessibility and inclusivity studies for Finch Park, Old Settler’s Recreation Center and Park and Prestwyck Park that the MCDC funded last fiscal year.

With the approval of a new multi-generational recreation center in the recent bond election, additional discussions and studies will be needed to identify needs, locations, etc. of the city’s recreation centers.  This reallocation will be able to fund immediate improvements to ADA needs.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

If approved, this reallocation will be reflected in the FY24-25 budget.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.

These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
