RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes award of a fixed price contract with David Copeland Sand & Gravel, Inc. of Princeton, Texas and Liberty Sand & Gravel, Inc. of Anna, Texas to provide street materials on an as needed basis.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney issued Invitation for Bid 15-50FP, Street Materials in June 2015.
• Bids for 15-50FP Street Materials were received on June 25, 2015.
• Two (2) bids were received.
• An Evaluation Team of three City employees reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o Purchase price
o Reputation of the bidders and of bidders’ goods or services verified through reference checks
o Delivery time
• The Evaluation Team recommends David Copeland Sand & Gravel, Inc. and Liberty Sand & Gravel, Inc. as the best value for both the City of McKinney and the Public Works Department.
• Award to David Copeland Sand & Gravel, Inc. - Type B, Grade 3 Aggregate; Type B, Grade 4 Aggregate; Type B, Grade 5 Aggregate; Screened Cushion Sand.
• Award to Liberty Sand & Gravel, Inc. - #1 Flex Base; Concrete Wash Sand; Manufactured Sand.
• Contract will commence on date of award and continue for a three (3) year period.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for these services is currently budgeted in the following area:
Street Maintenance Operations: 001-4606-503-8307 $214,915
