· Approval of this Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Ordinance renames Meyers Way between Alma Road and Collin McKinney Parkway within the Craig Ranch Community to Meyer Way.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· It has come to Staff's attention that there is a street name for a roadway within the Craig Ranch Community that is inconsistent. Meyers Way extends from Alma Road to Collin McKinney Parkway; however Meyer Way extends from Collin McKinney Parkway to Van Tuyl Parkway. The extension of Meyer Way is also under design from Van Tuyl Parkway to Henneman Way.
· In order to eliminate potential confusion, it is recommended that this roadway maintain a continuous name along its entire length.
· Both Meyer Way and Meyers Way have been platted, but there are currently no buildings addressed on either roadway. A platted roadway requires an Ordinance to change its name.
· Staff concurs with the recommendation of Cross Engineering to rename the segment of this platted roadway from Alma Road to Collin McKinney Parkway to Meyer Way.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funds for this item are available in the operating budget of Water Utilities and Infrastructure Department.
