RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the attached Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The purpose of these services is to master plan a 101-acre City-owned site abutting Wilson Creek, south of US 380 and east of Gray Branch Road.
• Thirteen respondents to the request for qualifications were evaluated by Parks, Recreation and Open Space staff and Schrickel Rollins and Associates, Inc. of Arlington, Texas is recommended.
• Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, Inc. has proposed design and engineering services for the design of the Gray Branch Park Master Plan in an amount of $80,000
• Scope of services:
o Architectural and Engineering $ 65,320
o Traffic Impact Study $ 12,000
o Reimbursable Expenses Allowance $ 2,680
o Total $ 80,000
• It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $80,000 for design and engineering services for the Gray Branch Park Master Plan project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The 101-acre tract east of Gray Branch road and south of US 380 at Wilson Creek was purchased in November 2009.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Gray Branch Park Master Plan Project (PK1212) is a FY 10-11 Capital Improvements Program funded MCDC funds.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• On February 10, 2011 the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board recommended to City Council that Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, Inc. be awarded a design contract for the Gray Branch Master Plan project.
