ITEM SUMMARY:
· The Communications and Marketing Department is pleased to present City Council with five new recently awarded honors.
· The City Communications and Marketing Department has won more than 45 awards since the McKinney, Unique by nature brand and strategic marketing plan debuted.
· These newest awards are at a state level (TAMIO) and international level (Association of Communications and Marketing Professionals), honoring excellence in communications and marketing.
· We are proud that the City of McKinney communications team consistently fares well across all communications platforms from the strategic plan and strategy, branding, Web sites, video productions, print collateral, advertising campaigns and social media.
· Summary of awards won:
Three prestigious Communications and Marketing awards were received from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO). TAMIO is an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League, which represents 98% of Texas’ urban population through it’s more that 1,000 member cities and towns. Honors came in the following categories:
o Award of Excellence (1st) in Marketing - Marketing Plan or Campaign, Populations of 100,000 or more for the Top 5 Best Place to Live campaign.
o Award of Excellence (1st) in Print - Annual Report, 100,000+ Population for “A Unique Perspective.”
o Silver Star (2nd) - E-News/Tech Services - for the Weekly Electronic Newsletter, recently redesigned and reaching more than 30,000 households each week.
