RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution amends expenditures in the Fiscal Year 2018 - 2022 Capital Improvement Program Project by transferring $90,000 from Bois D Arc Improvements (FA1621) to Transportation Alternatives Program School Pedestrian Safety Enhancements Project (TR1603) for the construction phase.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* There is an accompanying item on the Council Agenda authorizing a contract with Cam-Crete Contracting, Inc. to provide construction services for the Transportation Alternatives Program School Pedestrian Safety Enhancements Project (TR1603)
* On May 6th, 2014 the City Council approved a resolution to submit a Safety and Access to Schools project application for the 2014 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Call for Projects through the North Central Texas of Governments (NCTCOG).
* The project includes:
o Installation of in-street school crossing signs at designated school crossings on multi-lane street with an adult crossing guard to establish a better visibility for those crossings
o Installation of driver feedback signage to promote compliance with the 20 mph school speed zone at selected locations.
o Installation of sidewalks at locations where gaps exist in existing school route paths.
* The additional funding is required to cover the actual construction costs of the project inclusive of a not to exceed construction contingency.
