ITEM SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes the Interim City Manager to execute a Standard Utility Agreement with TxDOT for reimbursement of expenses for the WA4409 and WW4410 FM 546 Utility Relocations - Water and Wastewater Project from SH 5 to Airport Road.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

TxDOT has completed the design of the new FM 546 from SH5 to Airport Road.

TxDOT construction is scheduled to begin in August, 2016.

The relocation of the water and sewer mains is needed to address conflicts with the proposed pavement.

This Standard Utility Agreement will establish the reimbursement percentage that the City will receive from TxDOT for the cost of the relocations.

The utility relocation construction plans have been completed.

This agreement must be fully executed before City relocation work begins in order for the City relocation work to be eligible for reimbursement from TxDOT.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The total cost of the City utility relocation project, including design, construction, project management, and construction inspection is estimated to be $570,000.

The estimated reimbursement percentage from TxDOT will be 61.3% ($291,000) and will be paid in 2017, after the completion of the utility relocation project.
