RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approve budget amendment for the purchase of warrants interface between the police department's OSSI software and court's H T E Case Management software.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The municipal court wishes to partner with the police department in the purchase of a warrants interface between the OSSI and H T E Case Management software solutions.
· The purchase of the interface can be funded with the Court Technology Fund; therefore, the general fund will not be negatively impacted.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Interface will:
Ø Mitigate risk when confirming warrants
Ø Maximize services with limited resources
Ø Automate manual processes of warrant confirmation and closure in Dispatch and Courts
Ø Eliminate manual tracking of warrants served over the weekends
Ø Give citizens access to warrant information on P2C website
Ø Pin map warrants for more effective service by marshals and police officers
Ø Potentially enhance revenue collection and compliance with court orders.
· Court's portion of the purchase is $12,680
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Revenues and expenditures for general fund will be increased by $12,680
