RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Staff recommends approval of the Public Art Program
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Over the past year, the Arts Commission has developed a Public Arts Program to promote and encourage public art in McKinney.
• The mission of the Program is to show that the city of McKinney is committed to promoting the cultural, aesthetic, and economic vitality in the city by integrating art into public places, civic infrastructure, and present and future development which may be achieved by the creation of a Public Art Program.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On November 15, 2011 the Arts Commission presented the details of the Public Art Program to the City Council.

• The McKinney Arts Commission unanimously approved this recommendation.
