ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Ordinance will repeal Ordinance 1997-04-20 which previously established a no parking zone on Bumpas Street between Murray Street and the south dead end of Bumpas Street.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· After a site review of existing areas with parking regulations, Staff noticed the signage which established the no parking zone on Bumpas Street was no longer in place.
· Research was conducted and it was discovered the circumstances which led to the establishment of the no parking zone on Bumpas Street are no longer in effect.
· Vehicular parking can be reestablished in front of the homes on Bumpas Street in this area with removal of the no parking zone.
· In 2008, City Council delegated to the Traffic Engineer the authority to modify parking regulations within McKinney.
· The existing parking regulation on Bumpas Street was established prior to 2008 by an Ordinance specific to this area; therefore, it is necessary to repeal the specific parking ordinance.
