RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends that the Planning and Zoning Commission approve a motion to reschedule the date of a joint meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council to April 22, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in order to continue the public hearing and consider/act on the proposed rezoning of fewer than 262 acres to the McKinney Town Center (MTC) form-based zoning district.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· Action regarding this item (and its companion item 12-222M2) was scheduled to be taken by the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council at the February 25, 2013 joint meeting. A public hearing was held. However, due to scheduling conflicts, this item was tabled (and the public hearing was continued) to April 2.
· Due to scheduling conflicts, April 2 is no longer a viable date for a joint meeting. As a result, at their March 19, 2013 meeting, the City Council voted to reschedule this item and continue the public hearing to a joint meeting on April 22, 2013.
· As such, Staff is recommending that the Planning and Zoning Commission also reschedule this item and continue the public hearing to a joint meeting on April 22, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
