ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting funds in the amount of $5,500,000 for park land acquisition, professional services for update of Parks Master Plan, and park and trail construction and improvements.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The proposed projects are part of the 10-year CIP and will allow growth in areas that meet the most immediate needs of the community in the most cost effective manner.

                     The master plan update will address the express interests of our residents, will identify areas of deficit, and create a strategy for addressing growth.

                     Identify trails and implement development in a manner that maximizes connectivity locally and regionally.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.

                     These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
