ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting funds in the amount of $5,500,000 for park land acquisition, professional services for update of Parks Master Plan, and park and trail construction and improvements.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The proposed projects are part of the 10-year CIP and will allow growth in areas that meet the most immediate needs of the community in the most cost effective manner.
• The master plan update will address the express interests of our residents, will identify areas of deficit, and create a strategy for addressing growth.
• Identify trails and implement development in a manner that maximizes connectivity locally and regionally.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.
• These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
