ITEM SUMMARY:

Parks and Recreation staff will lead a discussion and workshop session related to the various renovation options at the Al Ruschhaupt sports complex. Feedback from this session will be utilized by the design team for incorporation into their planning efforts.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Al Ruschhaupt Master Plan Project (PK4392) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC and Bond funds in an amount of $1,500,000. The final budget is to be determined through this master planning process.

Elements of the Al Ruschhaupt Project are already underway, such as the immediate installation of new field lights at Phase II of the complex. This area does not have lights today. Current signage on the property announces this forthcoming improvement.

Other improvements may include, but are not be limited to turf enhancements, upgrading of existing lights, replacement of playground equipment and splash pad, more concrete trails, additional park shelters, additional parking and vehicle connections, and miscellaneous improvements.

In December of 2019, City Council approved a professional services contract for master planning services with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., of McKinney, Texas.

Exhibits from Kimley-Horn will be presented and thoroughly discussed at the meeting.
