RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution for acceptance and implementation of grant award.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The UASI program focuses on enhancing regional security preparedness in major metropolitan areas.
· Staff requests approval to accept and implement grant award of $70,000 in UASI grant funding to develop a Debris Monitoring and Management Program.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Nuclear, chemical and biological accidents or attacks may produce various amounts of contaminated soil, water, and construction/demolition waste that would require special disposal handling.
· The City of McKinney is required to develop a Debris Monitoring and Management Program to maintain regulatory compliance and implement the city's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
· Grant funding will allow the City to create a Debris Monitoring and Management Program.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· The grant will provide $70,000 for the creation of a Debris Monitoring and Management Program.
· There is no match requirement.
