RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of the Resolution.
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Local Project Advance Funding Agreement (LPAFA) with TxDOT, for an amount not to exceed $40,000.  
·      The terms of the agreement state the City will furnish traffic signal equipment for the US 75 and Wilmeth interchange and TxDOT will reimburse the City for the cost of the equipment provided.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      The construction of US 75 between US 380 and Bloomdale Road is scheduled to be completed in November 2012.
·      A traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of US 75 and Wilmeth Road with this construction project.
·      Upon completion of the traffic signal, the City of McKinney will be responsible for its maintenance.  
·      The signal cabinet, controller, video detection, and ITS equipment are being furnished by the City of McKinney to ensure standard traffic control equipment is used at this intersection, thereby providing for more efficient operation and maintenance.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with TxDOT, for an amount not to exceed $40,000.  
·      Funding for the signal equipment is available in the Capital Improvements Program in TR7118.
