RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

ITEM SUMMARY:
* On February 29, 2016, the City Council will discuss and make recommendations on individuals to serve on the Downtown Parking Committee.
* On February 22, 2016, the City Council established the composition of the Downtown Parking Committee: 15 individuals consisting of 11 residents, 2 members of Council and 2 non-voting staff members.
o A minimum of four individuals with business interests in the historic downtown area
o One member each will be selected by Mayor, District 2, and District 4
o Two members each will be selected by District 1, District 3, and the two At Large representatives
o Council representatives will include Mayor Loughmiller and Councilwoman Rath
o The City Manager will appoint two non-voting staff representatives that will be available to provide assistance and information
* The purpose of the committee shall be to discuss long term and short term solutions to parking related issues in the Historic District including but not limited to areas impacted by the Town Center Study previously approved by the City Council.
* The Committee shall incorporate into the discussions related to parking, discussions concerning future municipal facilities that may be impacted or a part of any recommendations that may be brought forward.
* The Committee will meet as needed and determined by the committee but no less than every two weeks in order to bring a recommendation forward to the City Council for discussion no later than the May 16, 2016 Work Session.
