This agenda item and proposed Resolution is in response to the presentation previously given by CoServ in relation to proposed Electrical substations and associated transmission lines which will potentially be located within the City of McKinney.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

CoServ initially met with the City of McKinney staff in February to discuss proposed locations of electrical substations and transmission lines which could potentially be located within the City of McKinney.

There are three proposed locations for substations of which one final location will be selected.

Two substation locations are within the City of Allen and one proposed location is within the City of McKinney (see attachment).

On May 17, 2016, Brazos Electric held a public meeting to solicit feedback from citizens who may be affected by the installation of the proposed electrical substations and related transmission lines.

A timeline of events regarding this project has been attached for reference.

CoServ presented to the City Council on May 23, 2016, regarding the proposed electrical substation locations and associated transmission lines.
