ITEM SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Standard Utility Agreement with TxDOT for reimbursement of expenses for the US 75 Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project from SH 121 to White Avenue - Phases I   and II.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

TxDOT has completed the design of the widening of US 75 from SH 121 to White Avenue and has awarded the project to a contractor.

TxDOT construction is scheduled to begin no later than December 1, 2011.

The relocation of the water and sewer mains is needed to address conflicts with the proposed pavement.

This Standard Utility Agreement will establish the reimbursement percentage that the City will receive from TxDOT for the cost of the relocations.

The utility relocation construction plans have been completed and easement acquisition is underway.

This agreement must be fully executed before City relocation work begins in order for the City relocation work to be eligible for reimbursement from TxDOT.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The total cost of the City utility relocation project, including design, construction, easement acquisition, project management, and construction inspection is estimated to be $4,500,000.

The estimated reimbursement percentage from TxDOT will be 56% ($2,520,000) and will be paid in 2012, after the completion of the utility relocation project.
