RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution for acceptance of the grant, if awarded.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The goal of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is to provide funding for life-saving equipment, disaster assistance and educational opportunities for first responders and public safety organizations.
· Staff requests approval to accept approximately $19,000 in grant funding for the Fire Department's Community Healthcare Program, if awarded.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Community Healthcare Program services may include health screenings, wellness education, immunizations, chronic disease management (i.e., diabetes and congestive heart failure), and home health and safety programs.
· The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant, if awarded, will provide funding for equipment and training for the Community Healthcare Program.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· The grant request is for $18,999.
· Expenditure will be appropriated in Fund 33.
