RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Adoption of budget amendment ordinance

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The McKinney Fire Department is desiring to purchase two Segway EMS response units.  The Segway is an innovative and unique conveyance that allows for enhanced operations and service delivery at public events.

                     These units will be able to carry all necessary medical equip

                     Medical Center of McKinney has generously offered to donate the money to cover the cost of purchasing the two Segways.

                     The units will allow quicker response in crowded public events to incidents, as minor as bug bites to critical incidents like cardiac arrest.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Cost of Segways, equipment, and shipping is $16,062.90

                     McKinney Medical Center of McKinney is donating the money to cover the cost of these purchases.
