RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* Purchase of thirteen (13) 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe PPVs from Caldwell Country for the Patrol Division of the Police Department, an expenditure of $446,945.
* The Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, authorizes local governments to contract directly with other governments to increase their efficiency and effectiveness. Texas Government Code, Section 791.025(c) states that a local government that purchases goods and services reasonably required, under the Interlocal Cooperation Act, satisfies the requirement of the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of goods and their services.

* Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, Interlocal Cooperation Contracts, authorizes cities to make purchases utilizing cooperative contracts such as the ones available through BuyBoard and HGAC.

* Purchase of vehicles will include an additional expenditure of $97,457.72 for equipment for radios, emitters, radars, and other equipment. The equipment will be purchased from GT Distributors and Motorola on BuyBoard and HGAC cooperative contracts.

* The Buyboard cooperative contracting agency accepts registration and bids from vendors throughout the State. No local Chevrolet dealers bid on this Buyboard contract for police vehicles.
