RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Staff recommends approval of the proposed alley abandonment.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Staff received a request to abandon an unnamed alley located approximately 200 feet north of White Avenue between Tennessee Street and Kentucky Street.

                     The unnamed alley consists of a 20 foot right-of-way containing approximately 2,650 square feet. The alley is currently unimproved.

                     The applicant intends to develop the tracts north and south of the alley into a future development.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     An application and supporting documentation for the requested abandonment were submitted on May 16, 2016, and revised on May 26, 2016, and May 31, 2016.

                     No public utilities operate within the right-of-way and no easements are proposed to be retained on the requested abandonment.

                     All owners adjacent to the right-of-way have signed a petition supporting the requested abandonment.

                     Public hearing notices were sent to all property owners within 200 feet of the requested abandonment. As of June 7, 2016, staff has received no comments in support of or opposition to this request.
