ITEM SUMMARY:

This Ordinance creates a loading zone on the north side of Louisiana Street immediately east of Tennessee Street.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In May 2016, a petition was received signed by Downtown property owners and merchants requesting a loading zone space be designated on Louisiana Street, east of Tennessee Street.

Engineering Staff and Main Street Staff worked with the Downtown property owners and merchants to review possible locations for a proposed loading zone space along this section of Louisiana Street.

The consensus from the Downtown property owners and merchants was the loading zone space would be located on the north side of Louisiana Street in the first parking space east of Tennessee Street.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The signage and markings to establish the loading zone space is available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department.
