RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the Interim City Manager to execute lease agreements for various office locations to accommodate staff from a variety of departments.
* Final lease agreements will be negotiated to be acceptable with the Interim City Manager and to meet standard commercial rental rates, terms, conditions which are consistent with the City's short and long term spatial requirements.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Resolution number 2016-02-029(R) Enacted 02-16-16 approved a Chapter 380 Economic Incentive and Master Development Agreement between the City of McKinney and Columbus Realty Partners, LTD for a mixed use economic development project located on approx. 8.766 acres located generally at the SW corner of McDonald Street (State Hwy 5) and Davis Street.
* Annex B is located on said 8.766 acre development.
* The existing, approved agreement requires that construction on the project would begin no later than January 2017.
* Columbus Realty has set a demolition date for the Annex B building of
November 1, 2016.
* For operational efficiencies, a satellite office is being considered for selected inspectors within Development Services. This office will alleviate staff travel time to and from job locations in the northwest section of our city where major development is ongoing.
