RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services contract for an owner's representative / program management services with the consulting firm of Aguirre Roden for multiple projects being managed by the Public Works Department's Facilities Construction Division and are currently in various stages of development and construction.
* The selected consultant firm, Aguirre Roden, submitted a fee proposal to provide professional owner's representative/program management services for selected projects in an amount of $150,000 that equates to an average of 20 hours per week for 12 months with an estimated amount of reimbursables not to exceed $15,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Facilities Construction Division is currently managing more than 15 separate projects totaling more than $70,000,000 in total costs, which vary in complexity and scope from a $250,000 renovation project to a $36,000,000 new construction project. Based on the current Capital Improvement Program (CIP), five additional projects are anticipated to begin within the next six months.
* Due to this increasing work load, it was determined that program management assistance is needed to ensure that these critical public projects are brought to completion within budget and on time.
