RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a professional services contract with RVI Planning and Landscape Architecture, Inc., to provide landscape architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the Scott Elementary Neighborhood Park project in a contract amount of $269,350 and design budget not to exceed $279,350.

* Scope of Services:
o Planning and Design $190,750
o Splashpad Design (may or may not be used) $ 58,800
o Construction Observation $ 19,800
o Contingency $ 10,000
Total $279,350

* The splash pad was itemized because there is a community water park in close proximity to the site. The item may be added into the project pending public input and cost.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* RVI was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms approved by the City Council on February 14, 2016.

* RVI has worked on previous City projects. Most recently the design of the 2015 Gabe Nesbitt Master Plan.

* The City acquired this land in satisfaction of parkland dedication for the Westridge development in 2015.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The Scott Elementary Neighborhood Park Project (PK3224) is a FY16-17 Capital Improvements Program funded by Bonds and MCDC in an amount of $2,425,000.
