ITEM SUMMARY:
- Staff has been working on creating a central point for all grant requests to be tracked.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On August 15, 2016, Staff presented grant requests that are funded through:
o Grants to the Community that include: McKinney Arts Commission, Community Support Grants, and Volunteer McKinney.
o Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is Federal funding received from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Up to 15% of the City’s annual CDBG allocation provides funds for nonprofits that provide programs for low to moderate income individuals or areas.
o McKinney Community Development Corporation
- Council has expressed a concern that all City resources going to individual organizations be captured, whether it is federal funds (CDBG), General Funds (McKinney Arts Commission, Community Support Grant), or sales tax revenue (MCDC).
