• Approval of Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Budget to provide $330,000 for creek improvements needed to address erosion in an unnamed tributary of Jean’s Creek through the Westwood Park Addition.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Residents of the Westwood Park Addition contacted the City about various erosion issues in this creek in June of this year. The City Council decided at a Work Session on 9/19/16 to do certain creek improvements.
• A budget amendment is needed to provide funding for the proposed improvements.
• This budget amendment will fund both the design and construction of the improvements.
• Funds are available in the Surface Water Drainage Fund Balance.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This budget amendment amends the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Budget to move $330,000 from the Surface Water Drainage Fund Balance to the Professional Services line item of the Surface Water Drainage Budget.
• There is a concurrent item on the agenda for a design contract for the creek improvements. That item is contingent on the approval of funding by this budget amendment.
