• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a supplemental contract with Halff Associates, Inc., to provide bridge inspection services for the construction of the Virginia Parkway Bridge and Overlook Structure over Wilson Creek for an amount of $42,240.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City is currently under contract with Halff Associates, Inc. for the design of the Virginia Parkway Lanes 5 & 6 widening project from Ridge Road to US 75. Design is complete and construction of this project is scheduled to begin in January 2017.
• Halff Associates have effectively provided professional design services for the Virginia Parkway widening project, and they have the capacity to provide services needed to inspect the construction of the bridge and overlook improvements along Virginia Parkway at the crossing of Wilson Creek.
• The additional services will supplement the City Inspector with bridge and structural expertise.
• Halff submitted a proposal for construction inspection services in the amount of $42,240.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a supplemental to the design contract and any necessary supplemental agreements with Halff Associates, for an amount of $42,240.
• This will increase the total contract amount with Halff Associates to an amount not to exceed $1,649,540.
• Funding for this contract is included in the Capital Improvements Program (ST1219 and WA9145).
• With approval of this item and accompanying items for the Virginia Parkway project, $6,234.70 will remain in ST1219, and $3,043.20 will remain in WA9145.
