ITEM SUMMARY:

This resolution will reject the one proposal received for 17-27CC Gold Star Memorial Project (PK1644).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Construction bids were opened for the Gold Star Memorial Project on December 29, 2016. A total of one bid was received.

The one competitive sealed bid was received from Drive Construction GC, LLC in an amount of $202,509.

Since only one bid was received and its price exceeded the $145,000 construction budget, it is recommended to reject the bid from Drive Construction and re-bid the project, in efforts to obtain the best value for the City.

This project is a tribute to the Gold Star Families, those who have lost loved ones in the armed forces and includes a granite memorial in their honor, lighting and flag poles.  The memorial will be placed within Veteran’s Memorial Park.
