RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approve Ordinance

ITEM SUMMARY:
* McKinney TV is upgrading its broadcast equipment, cameras and computers for its day-to-day operations to continue creating compelling, educational pieces for the public, including the video annual report and PSAs for various city departments.
* This equipment will be upgraded in preparation for the overall Council Chambers renovation to ensure City Council and other supporting meetings can be broadcast to residents in a reliable, high-quality and high-definition format live or on-demand.
* We are requesting an increased allocation of current PEG funds to a spendable account to match specific bid numbers for this equipment plus a contingency.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* To improve the way McKinney TV communicates and shares information with residents and stakeholders via the TV station, online and on social media, the department needs to replace McKinney TV cameras and computers outside Chambers with the latest high-quality, high-definition technology available.
* Using the new equipment, McKinney TV will produce informational pieces at least quarterly, in addition to regular features, to include information on how McKinney National Airport serves more than just jet owners and corporate fleets (January), City Council candidate forum (April), budget video (September), and holiday safety pieces for police and fire (November/December).
