RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance renames Ridgewood Drive within Robinson Ridge to Stoltz Drive.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• There are two streets within McKinney with the name Ridgewood Drive. One is within the Robinson Ridge subdivision and the other is within the McKinney Heights subdivision.
• Emergency Services have expressed concern about the potential confusion associated with two separate roadways bearing the same name. They have requested one roadway be renamed.
• Both roadways have been platted with their subdivision. A platted roadway requires an Ordinance to change its name.
• Ridgewood Drive within the McKinney Heights subdivision has homes addressed on it, but the Ridgewood Drive within Robinson Ridge does not. Because of this, Staff recommends changing the name of the street within Robinson Ridge.
• Since Ridgewood Drive within the Robinson Ridge subdivision will extend into the Wilmeth Ridge subdivision, Staff worked with the developer of Wilmeth Ridge to determine a new name for the roadway. Staff concurs with the recommendation to rename Ridgewood, west of Ridgeway Drive to Stoltz Drive.

• Funds for this item are available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department.
