RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution rescinds Resolution No. 2017-01-019R authorized on January 17, 2017 and authorizes award of contract for all items listed within bid to the second best value bidder, Global Building Maintenance of Dallas, Texas to provide Janitorial Services for the Apex Centre.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     On January 30, 2017, City staff met with awarded vendor CTJ Maintenance.

                     During the meeting, CTJ Maintenance identified to City staff that they were unable to fulfill the service requirements as outlined in the bid document at the rate awarded to CTJ Maintenance.

                     On January 31, 2017, CTJ Maintenance confirmed they are unable to fulfill the City’s contract requirements.

                     At this time, no services have been rendered by CTJ Maintenance.

                     Consequently, City staff recommends rescinding the award to CTJ Maintenance and awarding to the second best value bidder, Global Building Maintenance, which has confirmed that they will be able to meet all requirements as outlined in the bid document.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The monthly fee for Janitorial Services provided by Global Building Maintenance is $21,600.26

                     Funding for these services are budgeted in the account:  034-4345-453-8516
