BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

FAA Order 5100.38D (Airport Improvement Handbook) sets forth policies and procedures that federally funded airports must adhere to.

The Order requires airports, including McKinney National, to implement an effective pavement management program.

The Pavement Management Program (PMP) is a technical document that inventories, inspects, and records all airport pavement condition over time.

The document provides pavement condition data to Airport Management, whom subsequently evaluates the urgency of need and develops a cost-effective maintenance schedule to address shortcomings.

The recently completed PMP has identified certain areas of Airport pavement that requires maintenance, which is eligible for federal funding assistance from the FAA.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The grant requires a 10% City match.

The City’s share will be paid from Operations account number 005-4120-503-8407 (Maintenance Other)
